Position Summary

Functions as a staff nurse under the guidance and supervision of an experienced R.N. Performs routine patient care assignments and carries out established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process. This individual is also cross trained to assist in clerical tasks, waived testing and phlebotomy/ venipuncture.

Qualifications

Education:

Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

Training and Experience:

Minimum of six months experience working as an RN preferred; one year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Bilingual abilities desirable but not mandatory.

Current BLS Certification within 90 days of hire required.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer to the department

EKG and Cardiac Rhythms knowledge
