Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Lung Transplant is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations for the Lung Transplant Program. Executes sound, clinical business strategy promoting service, relationships, and volume. Responsible for meeting internal procedural requirements as set forth by transplant steering committee as well as meeting external requirements regarding transplant services as defined by JCAHO, UNOS, Medicare, and Medicaid. Works closely with physicians to ensure high quality services are provided by the program.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Provides leadership and oversight for Clinical Supervisors, ensuring the proper tools, resources, and environment to carry out their responsibilities, including operating within compliance of JCAHO, Medicare, and UNOS regulations.
2. Develops and oversees an adequate recruitment, training, education and competency program for staff.
3. Develops with Clinical Supervisors adequate QA/PI plans for each respective areas and holding Supervisors accountable for ensuring that plans, goals, and targets are achieved; serves as content expert on policies and procedures where appropriate.
4. Achieves and maintains high standards of patient and referring physician satisfaction in regards to clinical program and responds accordingly when complaints arise.
5. Works effectively with program Medical Director, ensuring strong lines of communication and follow-up, and jointly addressing and resolving issues proactively as they are identified.
6. Increases transplant revenue and profitability by growing clinic and wait list volumes and spin-off activity.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
- General management experience
- 5 years or more experience in transplant management/administration preferred
- Ability to lead and operate a transplant program.
Minimum License and Certificates Required:
- Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
