The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for planning, administering and monitoring systems and procedures related to the prevention, detection and control of infections within the nursing home. This position also oversees the Employee Health Program. The Infection Control Nurse directs education, training, and orientation programs for nursing home personnel related to Infection Prevention/Employee Health. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nurse; Associate Degree in Nursing; or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing; or LPN Diploma.
Experience desired: At least 3 years of staff nurse experience in an acute care facility or long-term care facility.
License: Registered Nursing License by the State of Georgia; or Licensed Practical Nurse License and current CPR Certification.
