Overview

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Registered Nurse for our PACU. This is a full-time, 8-hour day shift position reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services. 

Responsibilities

The Recovery Room RN is a registered nurse who uses specialized knowledge and skills in the care of patients undergoing the postoperative phase. The PACU RN uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, and evaluate perceived, actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems that may result from the intrusion of anesthetic agents and techniques. The PACU RN is responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and caring environment, one in which the nursing team can function and in which the outcome for the patient is as positive as possible. Manages and oversees equipment and supplies for the area. Provides staff education and serves as a clinical advisor to other staff members. Assist the surgical team as needed in any other capacity according to established procedure.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred. 
  • One-year acute care hospital experience in PACU or Critical Care area preferred. 
  • Current CA RN license required.
  • Current BLS (AHA) required.
  • ACLS and PALS (AHA) required or within 2 months of employment.
