POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Surgical Technologist I functions as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure. 

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

One (1) year recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist, Graduate of an accredited Operation Room Technician course or has successfully completed Enloe Medical Center’s hospital based Surgical Technologist Training Program

OR

Current Enloe employee who has applied and been accepted into the Surgical Tech Trainee Program

Desired:

Membership in a national surgical technologist organization

Must have the ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve efficiently. Must have the ability to work in a demanding environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused. Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must have the ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs, unit based QI task forces and committees. Must be able to meet competency requirements.
