RN Supervisor – Night Shift (Skilled Nursing Facility)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable RN Supervisor (Night Shift) to lead clinical operations during overnight hours in our Skilled Nursing Facility. The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing staff, ensuring quality resident care, responding to clinical issues, and maintaining compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can provide calm, confident direction overnight.


RN Supervisor Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing staff during the night shift and ensure appropriate staffing coverage

  • Provide clinical leadership and support to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs

  • Ensure high-quality resident care and prompt response to changes in condition

  • Conduct shift rounds, monitor resident safety, and support fall prevention efforts

  • Ensure accurate documentation and medication administration practices

  • Respond to emergencies, triage clinical issues, and coordinate with providers as needed

  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and support smooth shift handoff

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers during overnight hours

  • Monitor infection control protocols and ensure compliance with facility procedures

  • Address resident/family concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate

  • Support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and facility standards of care


RN Supervisor Qualifications

Required:

  • Active RN license (in good standing)

  • Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a SNF or long-term care setting

  • Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to lead teams, manage workflow, and handle urgent situations

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred:

  • SNF/LTC experience

  • Experience with admissions, wound care, and overnight clinical coverage

  • Familiarity with EMR systems and compliance expectations
