Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following organizational policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in performing clinical procedures as directed by the physician/provider.
  • Collects, records, reports and maintains data.
  • Assesses each assigned patient, evaluates and documents their response to care and takes appropriate action.
  • Plans and implements patient care and provides patient teaching using Standard of Care.
  • Adheres to established principles of aseptic technique and infection control.

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
  • For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire

Preferred:
  • ACLS certification.

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assesses patient status on admission to the preop area, the operating room and/or the post-op area, and on a continuing basis. Provides safe, therapeutic quality care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis in a timely manner and by setting appropriate priorities. Coordinates nursing interventions to enhance achievement of expected outcomes and to ensure readiness for discharge. Documents interventions and patient’s responses. Ensures provision of patient care in an organized and timely manner. Utilizes nursing care standards when planning and implementing patient care.
