Schedule: On-call / Flexible hours (Monday–Friday, occasional weekends)
Pay: $22 per hour

About the Role

Do you love working with children and want a flexible job that fits your schedule? Join SYNERGY HomeCare’s Backup Childcare Program, providing trusted, short-term childcare for families when their regular arrangements fall through.

As a Caregiver for Back-up Childcare, you’ll step in to care for children ranging from infants to school-aged kids in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. You’ll support working families by ensuring their little ones are happy, secure, and having fun while parents handle their workday stress-free.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide age-appropriate care, supervision, and play for children (infants through 12 years old).

  • Follow established routines and care plans to ensure safety and comfort.

  • Maintain open, positive communication with parents and the Bright Horizons team.

  • Support daily routines, including meals, naps, creative play, and learning activities.

  • Ensure a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must obtain HCA (register yourself with the state of California ($35), background check ($89) and negative TB test) You can go here to register:

  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education a plus.

  • Experience caring for children in a home, center, or school setting (minimum 6 months preferred).

  • Ability to complete a background check, CPR/First Aid certification, and required online training.

  • Friendly, reliable, and flexible — ready to adapt to different home or center environments.
