Staff Educator/Infection Control Nurse RN

 

A nursing home is seeking a talented and hardworking Staff Educator/Infection Control Nurse RN to join our ever-growing team.

 

Staff Development Coordinator/Staff Educator Job Description:

  • Plan, organize, and implement skills training programs/in-services for clinical staff and other departments; Perform orientation classes
  • Develop educational strategies to facilitate quality improvement efforts
  • Coordinate with and utilize community resources in meeting educational and staffing needs
  • Oversee the process for competency evaluation of new employees
  • Recommend progression to permanent employment or extension of orientation/probationary period for new employees
  • Work closely with HR regarding hiring process and new employee files.
  • Serves as designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDC
  • Serves as the on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, in accordance with current CDC recommendations
  • Maintains a current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practices
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information

Staff Development Coordinator/Staff Educator Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Professional Nurse’s license in the State of Florida
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and mature judgments.
  • Prior Staff Development/Education experience Preferred.
  • Point Click care preferred
