Job Summary and Responsibilities

SMMC Special Care Nursery Level II NICU. This RN position will provide care to critically ill neonates and preemies as young as 32 weeks gestation. The Special Care Nursery RN must be able to attend both low and high risk deliveries when needed and be able to assist with stabilization and transport of infants born prior to 32 weeks gestation. This position will also be responsible for delivering care to postpartum women and newborns on a rotating basis.

Required

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
One to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program or
New graduate with completion of senior practicum in L&D, Mother/Baby unit or nursery.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 6 - months

Preferred

The work of the Hospice Weekend Visit Nurse (RN) provides considerable consideration for independent assessment and judgement in crisis situations, utilizing and consulting with the Hospice Medical Director and / or Administrator On-Call as indicated.
