The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 80% (32 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Tipton Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Duties To Include

  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.

Percent of Time: 80% (32 hours per week)

Schedule: Four 8-hour shifts per week, scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. One weekday off per week. No weekends, holidays, or on-call time required.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider


Special Qualification/License

  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
  • Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours
  • Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.


Highly Desired Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills.
