Registered Nurse, Critical Care Transport Team, Federal Way (Nights) This position is based out of Federal Way. Shifts start at 5pm or 7pm (12 hours). As an integral member of the Transport Team, the Transport RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by Washington State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's Hospital policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities. This includes the provision of basic patient care as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize the critically ill or injured patient, demonstration of proficiency in neonatal and pediatric critical care nursing and knowledge of the adaptations necessary for patient management in the ambulance or aircraft and during transit. The Transport Nurse must also be familiar with ambulance and aircraft operating procedures and safety practices. Assists in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII), ART, etc. The Transport RN serves as a team lead within the mobile transport team and may be required to provide supervision and delegation to other Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, or Emergency Medical Technicians who are members of the mobile transport team. Must be available for call. This position may be based at Main Campus or at one of the off campus bases. Off campus bases may be at Seattle Children's locations, or at another site that is decided based on volume and efficiency. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Minimum of three (3) years recent Critical Care Transport, pediatric critical care (PICU, CICU or other relevant unit), Emergency Department (ED) or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience, at a 6.FTE or greater. Required Credentials Current Washington State RN License. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Those without ACLS will be required to obtain ACLS during the orientation, but no later than three months from the start date within the position. BLS for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions prior to start date. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Those without PALS will be required to obtain PALS during the orientation, but no later than three months from the start date within the position. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP). Those without NRP will be required to obtain NRP during the orientation, but no later than six months from the start date within the position. Registered Nurse - NICU (Nights)

Registered Nurse - NICU (0.9 FTE, night shift) *Up to $15,000 sign on bonus + $8000 Relocation for qualified external, experienced Pediatric / Neonatal ICU nurses* No pediatrics experience? No problem! If you have experience working with adult populations, we will provide training on working with pediatric patients and their families while leveraging the adult RN experience you already have. We will personalize an orientation just for you to set you up for success in the pediatric specialty you are hired for. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 32-bed quaternary care unit and the only Level IV NICU in Washington that receives referrals from four states: Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho (WAMI). Patients in the NICU are neonates up to 50 weeks post-gestational age. It is unique from a traditional NICU as many of the patients have congenital diagnoses requiring specialized pre-operative surgical and postoperative surgical care. Critically ill neonates with complex medical issues are also cared for in this unit. Specialized care provided includes ECMO/ECLS, cooling, in-room surgical procedures, high frequency oscillatory ventilation, use of inhaled nitric oxide, etc. The NICU charge nurse responds to all Code Blue events in the hospital.
