Advanced Practice Provider - Pain Specialists

Job Summary:
Meritus Health is seeking an experienced APP to deliver comprehensive and up-to-date pain management care for our patients. The right person will be joining a busy and collaborative practice with established physicians and mid-levels. We look for this person to be able to perform all functions of the job description which covers: performing a diagnostic clinical evaluation, refer for appropriate intervention, procedure(s), physical therapy and engaging other specialists. Must have a strong background with monitoring prescription drugs, review relevant imaging and diagnostic tests, maintain accurate patient records, implementation of appropriate treatment plan, and being a team player. We are willing to train the right nurse practitioner who has experience and shows a drive to learn.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive and up to date pain management care including providing patients with multimodal pain treatment options
  • Understand and follow current guidelines and treatment of pain care
  • Team player and able to work with clinical team which includes medical assistant, office secretary, nurses, doctors, and other ancillary staff
  • Obtain patient history and perform adequate physical exa
  • Perform diagnostic clinical evaluation, and refer for appropriate intervention, procedure, physical therapy, other specialist
  • Implement appropriate treatment plan
  • Monitor effectiveness treatment plan and provide alternative treatments plans/referrals
  • Maintain accurate and current patient records
  • Manage challenging situations with patient care including addressing drug use, provide treatment options/ referrals and discharging non-compliant patients
  • Review Prescription drug Monitoring
  • Review Relevant imaging and Diagnostic test in a timely manner and provide appropriate referrals.

Diabetes, Hypertension, Smokers) Proactively participates in the Care Team using evidence-based approaches to self management (patient coaching, motivational interviewing). Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required: Physician Assistant: Certification of completion from an approved Physician Assistant program.
