The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Implementing Patient First's policies and procedures;
  • Offering quality nursing care and generating a genuinely warm and friendly atmosphere for patients and employees;
  • Providing nursing care in the ambulatory setting to individual patients and families;
  • Using sound judgment when administering medical care and screening patients;
  • Administering medications and knowing correct dosage, actions, and side effects of each medication administered;
  • Assisting the physician in all emergency cases;
  • Providing positive, warm and friendly customer service in all interactions;
  • Fostering teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere;
  • Completing other duties as directed.

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Employee must be at least 18 years of age;
  • High school graduate or equivalent;
  • Keyboarding experience required;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • One year of clerical experience preferred;
  • One year of clinical experience with administration of medications preferred;
  • Licensed to practice as a Nurse in the state of Virginia.

A Brief Overview Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for their West Grove Primary Care office. This position will be Monday-Friday and will require one evening shift per week and a rotating Saturday shift. The shift will be based on the operational need. Pediatric and two years of LPN experience is preferred. The Licensed Practical Nurse performs routine nursing care of the ill, injured or infirm under the direction of a licensed professional (RN) nurse, nurse practitioner and/or a physician. The LPN participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the State Board of Nursing and health system standards. Also supports operations through administrative duties as required. The nurse must demonstrate competence in caring for patients with moderate to complex health issues and assist the Site Manager with administrative issues which affect the clinical practices within the office as well as comply with the administrative policies and clinical protocols as outlined in policy and procedure manual. Administratively responsible to the Site Manager and Ambulatory Nursing Director for nursing practice issues.
