Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum

Antepartum Department Highlights
- Unit is currently under renovation
- Level IV Maternal designation
- Texas Ten Step member
- Supportive, inclusive environment
- Diploma in Nursing or
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- BSN preferred
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- One year of Antepartum/Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
- RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required and
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and
- NRPA – Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and
- IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 months required and
- CPI – Crises Intervention Prevention training within 90 days and maintained annually required
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
