Corporate Traveler – MDS Coordinator (RN)

Hill Valley Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Corporate Traveler – MDS Coordinator (RN) to support our skilled nursing centers across Southwest and Central Virginia. This role is ideal for a highly skilled MDS professional who is passionate about mentoring, troubleshooting, and providing hands-on clinical reimbursement support to facilities in need.
This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex reimbursement and compliance challenges, and takes pride in helping MDS teams succeed.
Candidate Requirements (Must-Have)
Must reside in the Southwest or Central Region of Virginia
Must hold an active Virginia RN license
What You’ll Do
Provide hands-on support to facilities requiring assistance with MDS assessments and care planning
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, Medicare requirements, PDPM, case-mix, and billing accuracy
Mentor, train, and advise new or transitioning MDS Coordinators to strengthen facility teams
Collaborate closely with the Regional Director of Clinical Reimbursement to assess needs and implement best practices
Perform work in a hybrid capacity — both remotely and on-site as needed
Support centers during staffing transitions, audits, or high census periods
Participate in required overnight travel within the assigned region
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Virginia (required)
Strong working knowledge of MDS, Medicare guidelines, PDPM, reimbursement compliance, and care planning
Prior experience mentoring or training MDS nurses strongly preferred
Ability to travel regionally as needed
