Education

Graduate from an accredited Certificate or Associate Degree program in Surgical Technology.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Certification Required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association. Medical Technician - NH Board of Registration of Medical Technicians

Experience

At least one year experience as a surgical technologist.

Responsibilities

    • Maintains the integrity of the sterile field by utilizing knowledge of aseptic technique.

    • Uses advanced knowledge of instruments, equipment, and supplies necessary for surgical procedures.

    • Prioritizes team and department needs through analysis of the daily schedule and case mix.

    • Serves as a preceptor for Surgical Technologist students and new employees.

    • Functions as a leader by providing support to members of the surgical team.

    • Assists with maintaining a clean, safe surgical environment.

    • Ensures adherence to Surgical Services Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management Policies Procedures and Guidelines.

    • Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.

The Surgical Services team is led by both the Director of Peri-operative Services and Director of Ambulatory Services, as well as three (3) Nurse Managers. There are 19 surgical suites and the top three services include, orthopedics, urology, and general surgery. We also have specialty services that include, open heart surgery, laser lead extraction, robotics for urology, gynecology, thoracic, and general. Career ladder progression available! Hours: 10 or 12 hour shift available. This is a call taking position. The Orthopaedic Surgery Center is a collaborative effort between the physicians of Concord Orthopaedics and Concord Hospital. The physicians of Concord Orthopaedics work with anesthesiologists, nurses, and operating room and recovery staff to ensure patient safety and excellence in care. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Has basic knowledge of instrumentation. Prepare and set up medical supplies and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
