Summary Cardiac/Medical Registered Nurse (RN) Your work matters here. The unit treats cardiac, neuro, and stroke patients and we perform: Heart catheterization Pacemaker insertion Ablations Pulmonary vein isolation Bedside procedures Thoracentesis Gastroenterological procedures Here you will find a Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Clinical Resource Nurse who round on patients daily and are able to provide feedback regarding their care and are always available to support you and help with patients when needed. Summary SUMMARY The Critical Care (M/S ICU) RN manages the care of patients with conditions including: acute cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, multi-system failure and renal failure. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions consistent with the Critical Care Unit including: ACLS/PALS guidelines, dysrrhymia assessment and intervention, pre and postoperative care, airway and ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication administration, management of cardiac assistive devices, monitoring of neurological devices, and management of post-transplant patients. The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for meeting patient's priority needs by assessing, participating in interdisciplinary care planning, providing and /or delegating care and evaluating patients' responses and progress toward clinical outcomes. The Staff RN contributes to an efficient and effective work environment through activities including professional communication and documentation, preceptoring and/or resourcing of others. The Staff RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and/or other support staff in the delivery of patient care as described in Nebraska Statute 38. QUALIFICATIONS: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Experience in an ICU is preferred.
