A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide specialized nursing services in a K-12 school setting, supporting students with special education needs. This full-semester contract position is based in the Chicago area, with assignments at locations in Lisle, IL. The role focuses on delivering hands-on health care to students with complex medical needs, ensuring a safe and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 nursing care for students with special health needs
Administer medications, including emergency seizure treatments
Manage G-tube, J-tube, and NG tube feeding setups using bolus and pumps
Monitor and respond to seizures, performing emergency interventions as necessary
Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning (preferred but not mandatory)
Support classroom staff by assisting as a classroom aide when the assigned student is absent or does not require care
Maintain accurate health records and collaborate with education and healthcare teams

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Illinois RN professional license required; LPNs may be considered under certain conditions
CPR and BLS certification mandatory
Minimum of one year nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or special needs care
Experience with feeding tubes (G-tube/J-tube/NG tube)
Experience observing seizures and familiarity with emergency seizure medications
Tracheostomy and suctioning skills are an advantage
