A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to support special education students in a K-12 school setting. This contract position spans a full semester, providing essential healthcare services and contributing directly to the well-being and success of students with diverse needs.
Location: Naperville, IL area (Primary assignments in Lisle, IL)
Duration: January 5, 2026 – May 22, 2026 (full semester)
Schedule: Full-time, 7:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care to students with special health care needs
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures, including support with G-tube, J-tube, and NG tube feeding (bolus and pump methods)
- Monitor and respond to seizure activity, including emergency medication administration
- Collaborate with educational staff and assist in classroom support when primary student is absent or additional help is required
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with health policies
- Apply tracheostomy care and suctioning skills if applicable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois RN professional license (LPNs with relevant experience may be considered)
- Current CPR and BLS certification
- Minimum one year nursing experience, ideally in pediatrics or working with special needs populations
- Hands-on experience with feeding tubes and seizure management
- Familiarity with emergency protocols and medications for seizures
- Tracheostomy and suctioning expertise is highly desirable
