Job Summary and Responsibilities
SMMC Special Care Nursery Level II NICU. This RN position will provide care to critically ill neonates and preemies as young as 32 weeks gestation. The Special Care Nursery RN must be able to attend both low and high risk deliveries when needed and be able to assist with stabilization and transport of infants born prior to 32 weeks gestation. This position will also be responsible for delivering care to postpartum women and newborns on a rotating basis.

Job Requirements
Required
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- One to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program or
- New graduate with completion of senior practicum in L&D, Mother/Baby unit or nursery.
- Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 6 - months
Preferred
- Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire and
- Previous Mother-Baby experience or
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring, upon hire
- National Certification Corporation (NCC) certification Low Risk Neonatal or NICU preferred, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification completion within 6 months of date of hire.
