Responsibilities

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescents and young adults? Newport Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic RN to provide on-site nursing and care in our supportive and nurturing facilities. What You’ll Do:

  • Administering medications and monitoring vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in medical records.
  • Evaluating medical complaints and concerns from residents, effectively communicating with our Nurse Practitioners and Physicians.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans, providing direct care and nursing services as prescribed.
  • Monitoring chronic health conditions, respiratory distress, and seizures, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Maintaining comprehensive medical records and logs, adhering to all mandated reporting and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborating with Care Coordinators regarding medication management and refills.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, contributing your expertise to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

    • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Nursing Degree;
    • Licensure: Current RN licensure with the State Board of Nursing is a must.
    • Experience: Ideally, you bring previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with adolescents and/or young adults
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgment calls in high-pressure scenarios.
    • Team Player: A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Tech-Savvy: Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR).

    Pay range for this position is $39 to $59 depending on education and experience.

Leads, coordinates, and communicates the ongoing delivery of patient care services provided by members of assigned patient care team(s); considers patient acuity and the competencies of care team members in delegating and assigning work and in adjusting assignments as necessary; assesses and monitors team performance to ensure the quality of care provided is consistent with the VMFH standards and regulatory requirements.Coordinates nursing care and advocates for patient needs so that all appropriate disciplines are informed of and participating in the plan of care. Prepares patient for examination / procedures. Routinely explains delays. Assesses, monitors, and intervenes as indicated during and post examination or procedure. Provides health care education and guidance to patient and/or families. Educates regarding results, findings and diagnoses to patient and/or patient’s family within scope of practice. Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements EXPERIENCE / LICENSURE Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN degree is preferred. Minimum 6 months previous RN experience required. One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing. Specialty certification, as appropriate to the assigned work unit, is strongly preferred. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
