* Potential hybrid WFH Opportunity * Riley Pediatric Neurosurgery is looking for an experienced Triage RN to join our dynamic patient focused team! Opportunity for hybrid WFH days after all training (3 mos.) and ability to function independently is reviewed. 

This position performs duties associated with phone triage, symptom management, care coordination and may include direct in- clinic patient care and quality improvement activities. The incumbent assures completeness of ordered procedure and treatments, educates/instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments, and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Two years' experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. 
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
  • Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.

This Registered Nurse position coordinates clinical activities with staff, physicians and other departments on the Maternity and Pediatric units of Riverview Health. The position rounds on patients, serves as the clinical resource person for all staff, and may assist management with staff evaluations and performance improvement activities. The coordinator assists in planning, facilitating and leading the activities of the department and ensures the provision of customer focused care and safety. The position is a mix of clinical resource (70%) and management resource (30%).
