Job Description

Coordinates and delivers patient care to pediatric as well as adult patients using the health care team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and does patient teaching and discharge planning. Coordinates activities with ancillary departments. Maintains standards of department and the hospital.

  • Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
  • Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program in nursing. Previous experience in general duty nursing preferred, but not required. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric, limitations and planned procedures. Requires good judgment in delivering patient care; good oral and written communication skills; ability to function in stressful situations; current review in CPR. Must be willing to rotate shifts, days off and work area; may occasionally be required to work overtime. Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state.

The Triage RN supports our healthcare team through phone triage but has some patient facing hands-on aspects during nurse visits educating patients on medication and administering medication. This role is 75% phone triage and 25% nurse visits. The Nurse will handle patient interactions via telephone, provide advice in accordance with clinical protocols, and coordinate proper disposition.
