Job Description​

Saint Luke’s South in Overland Park is seeking Registered Nurse to join our progressive care unit team.

  • 36 hours/week
  • Day shift
  • Rotate Weekends/Holidays

Saint Luke’s South is proudly a Primary Stroke Center as well as STEMI receiving center. It delivers high-quality health care to Johnson County, Kansas, and the surrounding areas.

The Work: 

  • Utilizes the nursing process  
  • Performs patient care, delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff  
  • Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes  
  • Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines and procedures  

We are looking for collaborative, resourceful, and positive nurses who love empowering and teaching others.  

Job Requirements

Applicable Experience:

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse (KS) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)

This float nurse position supports multiple schools, covering general health room duties. After an initial two-week training period alongside an experienced nurse, you will independently manage health room operations within the assigned school. Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to students across PreK-12, addressing acute and chronic health needs. Manage and independently run the health room after initial training. Utilize computerized charting systems to document all nursing activities accurately. Adapt to fluctuating daily schedules, which may vary between 7:00 AM–2:30 PM and 9:00 AM–4:30 PM based on school level and special events. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
