Summary
The Supervisor RN, Ambulatory Triage for the Cellular the Transplant Program is a competent RN that exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. The Supervisor RN, Ambulatory Triage for the Cellular the Transplant Program identifies patterns of patient responses and can use past experiences to implement solutions for current situations. The Supervisor RN, Ambulatory Triage for the Cellular the Transplant Program is a competent nurse who has mastered technical skills and utilizes evidence based interventions. The Supervisor RN, Ambulatory Triage for the Cellular the Transplant Program collaborates with other members of the health care team when the need for assistance is identified. The Supervisor RN, Ambulatory Triage for the Cellular the Transplant Program is the supervisor for the Bone Marrow Transplant triage coordinators and is responsible for ensuring compliance with FACT and National Donor Marrow Program (NMDP) standards related to patient selection, consenting, updating/ implementing policies and adhering to the protocols set by regulatory agencies pertaining to cellular therapies. She/ he evaluates staff, mentors and ensures that the program is in compliance with all triage standards. She/ he participates in accreditation sessions and remains up to date with all regulatory standards. This individual ensures that the triage staff meet all regulatory standards and provides evidence of compliance by submitting all documentation related to training, education, proficiency, patient consent and selection. The supervisor has oversight over the registration process of donors that go through the triage section of BMT. The supervisor trains, supervises and ensures that all donors adhere to the financial/ Medicare process. In addition, coordinates with the BMT financial coordinators. Supervisor also oversees the registration for BMT research patients as appropriate per the research office. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.
- BSN required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Two years of experience in oncology nursing or a Master’s degree in Oncology Nursing required.
- BLS certification.
- BMTCN certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem solve and interact effectively with challenging situations.
- Analytical ability.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and promote positive working relationships.
- Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking
- Work required lifting or carrying objects 35-40 lbs.
- The ability to check documents for errors, use a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

The supervisor ensures that all policies and procedures are up to date and participates in completing regulatory applications and demonstrating compliance with standards within the Triage division.
- Ensures that triage staff adhere to the financial policies and procedures related to the donor and research registration process.
- Provide timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to develop, accomplish a task, or solve a problem. Use appropriate methods to help build a cohesive team; facilitating the completion of team goals.
