Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation Perform occupational medicine testing such as: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA). Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager. Logs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Responsible for patient call backs, scheduling physician referrals; specialist’s referrals and pharmacy issues; and patient’s education. More accurate than X-rays, endoscopy can also help identify inflammation, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers and tumors. Lower endoscopy is used to evaluate stomach pain and intestinal bleeding and detect polyps in the colon that may lead to colon cancer. This is a part-time position. Caregivers in this role will work 24 hours per week. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests, and documenting patient care. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
