JOB SUMMARY

The RN - Week Day - Med/Surg/Peds is responsible to plan, direct and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with established philosophy, policies, and procedures. Relates with other shifts, departments, & personnel. Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Preferred/Optional: BSN

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Minimum Required: Completion of nursing education program. Demonstrates excellence in customer service and professional conduct. Possesses good communication skills. Interacts appropriately and positively with peers, patients, families, physicians, and professionals. Maintains professionalism in the community, protects the confidentiality of the patient and serves as a patient advocate at all times. Ability to learn and adapt. Demonstrates clinical competence. Demonstrates ability to direct others and delegate appropriately.

Preferred/Optional: One to two years of nursing experience.
