About the Role

The Director of Nursing oversees the Nursing Department, ensuring that all nursing services are delivered in accordance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and organizational standards.

This leadership role works closely with staff, residents, families, and healthcare providers to drive clinical quality, staff development, and resident outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide respectful, dignified care to all residents
Maintain regulatory compliance and clinical best practices
Lead nursing staff onboarding, competency development, and ongoing education
Implement and evaluate nursing policies and procedures
Participate in resident care planning, quality assurance, and risk management
Conduct rounds to assess resident care and support staff performance
Collaborate with physicians, residents, and families to address clinical needs
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action plans
Support a positive work culture focused on service, accountability, and teamwork
Perform additional leadership duties as assigned

Qualifications

Current RN license in the State of Illinois
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Prior clinical leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong communication, decision-making, and relationship-building skills
Reliable work history and a commitment to teamwork
Passion for providing genuine, community-centered care

In-depth understanding of Medicare Conditions of Participation and payment mechanisms for home health. Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills required. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with people who have varied backgrounds. Ability to direct and manage a multi-disciplinary team of home health care clinicians, both professional and para-professional.
