Central Nursing for Rehab is looking to hire an RN Wound nurse
The Wound Care Nurse (RN) plays an integral role in the Clinical Nursing team in the facility. Through establishing a Wound Care program, and training the staff in proper protocol, the Wound Care Nurse ensures that each resident receives excellent wound care management and infection control. The Wound Care Nurse collaborates with the DON and nursing team on the floor to provide total care to each resident.
Wound Nurse Responsibilities:
- Establishes policy and procedure in effective Wound Care management for all facility staff
- Develops and implements a comprehensive Wound Care program in the facility which includes; care protocol, documentation process, and Wound Care formulary
- Weekly wound care rounds
- Maintains strict standards of care that enable proper Wound Care and Infection Control in the facility
- Directs clinical staff in assessing wounds and following the proper documentation process every step of the way
- Administers basic Wound Care training and to all new Nursing and Therapy staff on hire, as well as ongoing in-services and training relating to skin and wound care
- Provides accurate assessments and numbers to the DON on a weekly basis for reporting
- Conducts on-going survey using Center of Disease Control (CDC) infection criteria, documentation, and investigation of acquired infections
- Serves as a resource on Infection Control practices and policies to patients, families and staff
- Performs other related job duties as required
Wound Nurse Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing is required
- RN License in the State of Pennsylvania
- Wound Care Certification required
Wound Nurse Salary- $95k-$110 based on experience
