Details

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services works under the Director to provide overall direction to the hospice clinical team. They are responsible for hiring of qualified hospice personnel: the provision of hospice services, directly, and the delegation to and coordination of hospice personnel evaluations; and establishing standards of care to comply with federal and state regulations and guide­lines. The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Implement policies, procedures, and best practices for operations.
  • Monitoring nursing staff performance and addressing any QA issues
  • Clinical policy and procedure support
  • Assisting the Director in identifying & resolving nursing department deficiencies
  • Monitoring implementation of correction plans

Qualifications

  • A strong leader with impeccable organizational, strategic, analytical and project management skills.
  • A solid communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to motivate, mentor, and influence others.
  • 5 years in healthcare industry preferred
  • At least 1 year in hospice
  • 2 years of experience working in Leadership
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice 
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license and vehicle insurance

The two Director's of Nursing are responsible and held accountable for all nursing functions and activities of LHH. This is a senior executive-level position and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer/Nursing Home Administrator (NHA). This person will have indirect reporting to the San Francisco Health Network Chief Nursing Officer. This person will lead, guide, and direct the clinical operations of the healthcare facility in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards of nursing care, and established facility policies and procedures to provide appropriate care and services to residents. This person will also provide leadership and direction in conjunction with the annual Facility Assessment by developing new clinical programs and establishing organizational policies, priorities, and objectives; directs and coordinates the implementation of program changes; maintaining state and federal regulatory compliance; and performs related duties as required. This person will make decisions which directly impact the entire facility. This position exercises supervision over LHH related functional areas.
