The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Float RN is a versatile clinician who may be assigned to two or more units based on patient care needs and maintains competency to practice across all assigned units.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care within the RN scope of practice.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Maintain competency and provide care in two or more units based on organizational needs.
  • Direct and guide patient and family education regarding care plans and treatment.
  • Supervise and collaborate with other nursing personnel to maintain high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING   1. Current and valid state RN License  2. Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.  4. Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.  5. Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.  6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. 7. Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas. #LI-TS1

Saint Clare's Health offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $41.24 to $52.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
