Job Summary and Qualifications

The MBS Coordinator is responsible for the organizational leadership and programmatic development of all assigned departments in support of the hospital’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. The primary role of the Bariatric Coordinator is coordination of care for bariatric surgery patients and ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP Standards. This includes bariatric program development, patient and staff education, as well as the oversight of multidisciplinary teams and acting as the liaison between the hospital and the surgical practices. Responsible for the implementation and coordination of a program that delivers standardized care to bariatric patients across the continuum of care. Collects and reviews data to identify trends for benchmarking and performance improvement. Works collaboratively with Hospital and Medical Staff to lead bariatric performance improvement and certification activities in a manner that promotes a culture of learning and patient safety.

What qualifications you will need:

Bachelors degree; Post Graduate Degree; 3 - 5 years
(RN) Registered Nurse, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner, or (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered, or (LPT) Licensed Physical Therapist, or (RD/RDN) Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
Minimum of 3-5 years of hospital or clinical experience
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
