Patient Care Nurse Assistant-Emergency Medicine PRN

Location: MetroHealth - Cleveland Heights

Bi-weekly Hours: 16.00

Shift: 7a-3:30p/ 3p-11:30p/ 11p-7:30a; Rotating Weekends & Holidays

Primary Patient Population

  • Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
  • Behavioral Health patient population

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

  • Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking
  • Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
  • Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.

Personnel PCNA Will Work With

  • Registered Nurses, Paramedics, Providers.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position).
  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
