Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Cardiology Specialists of Acadiana located in LaFayette, LA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide routine and non-routine care and education to patients, assisting Physician and Charge Nurse as needed; accurately document all care provided in patient chart
  • Triage patient calls and responds to all requests within 24 hours, notify Physician of urgent matters and all test results
  • Perform clinic duties in efficient manner to maintain smooth flow of clinic; prepare patient for examination, test(s) or procedure(s); conduct physician ordered procedures and referrals, schedule outside facility testing and procedures
  • Work in conjunction with Authorization Specialists to ensure all procedures ordered and performed are pre-authorized for reimbursement
  • Follow all safety guidelines, adheres to universal blood and body fluid precautions; ensure work & clinical areas are kept clean and neat
  • Represent company in a positive manner; adhere to Standards of Behavior; foster positive patient service-oriented working environment & teamwork approach
  • Respect and maintain patient privacy at all times
  • Take direction for daily assignments from physician’s RN or Nursing Manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited certified medical assistant or accredited nursing program.
  • Maintain valid Certification or Louisiana LPN license
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in performing clinical activities in a medical environment.
