Scope of work

Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
  • Master's Degree nursing (MSN) Preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience recent relevant leadership (i.e., Charge Nurse, Shared Leadership position, Magnet Champion, QSO) (based on Corewell Health entity) Preferred.
  • MI RN license Required. 
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) 180 days Required.

About this unit Welcome to 7 South, a 22-bed Progressive Neuroscience Unit at the heart of Butterworth Hospital, Corewell Health’s flagship facility. We specialize in stroke and adult epilepsy care, offering advanced treatments as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a leader in EEG monitoring, including surgical implantation. This is a high-acuity, fast-paced inpatient unit with a strong reputation for teamwork, collaboration, and a supportive culture.
