The RN Clinic Supervisor is responsible for supervising back office staff  in our Family Medicine Clinic. Within the scope of practice, performing nursing duties following established policies, procedures and standards.  The RN Clinic Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that back office staff work effectively and efficiently in a care team setting with an emphasis on customer service and high quality health care.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assess sick patients who walk in and arrange for their care consistent with TrueCare guidelines.
  • Assist providers or other medical staff personnel w/examinations and treatments, as directed or required.
  • Administer medications, as ordered by provider.
  • Enter patient care, clinical data and findings in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Provide nursing staff coverage within licensed scope of practice.
  • Supervise the workflow and workload of back office staff to ensure an efficient patient flow.
  • Monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules, in order to maximize provider and staff productivity, employee morale, and patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor, coach, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards and provide direct and timely feedback with regard to daily operations and clinical skills competencies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation.
  • Oversee/monitor and assist in the training of new and existing employees.
  • Provide ongoing training to employees as new processes or updates are implemented; and work with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Shadow staff on skill competency, as needed, to ensure proper workflow processes and procedures are followed.
  • Track absenteeism, manage time off requests and approve timesheets.
  • Assist in preparation for and delivery of staff meetings and in-service and staff training, including monthly mandatory trainings.
  • Ensure vaccines are ordered and an inventory system maintained.
  • Maintain the expiration update on all medications and lab supplies and discard per TrueCare protocol, when necessary.
  • Assist Clinic Manager in the preparation for audits conducted by various agencies.
  • Serve as a point of contact for back office staff with questions, issues or patient related conflicts. When unable to address issues independently bring them to the attention of the Clinic Manager.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance of all nursing activities by working collaboratively with theDirector of Nursing and Clinic Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited California School of Professional Nursing.
  • At least one (1) year clinical nursing experience in an outpatient care setting.
  • At least one (1) year supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelors in Nursing is preferred. 
  • BLS Certification for health care providers
  • Current Californian State Board RN License
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

The pay range for this role is $48.78 - $73.17 on an hourly basis.
