Centra Health is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our highly respected Level III NICU team at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. We are seeking a committed, team-oriented clinician who thrives in a collaborative, high-acuity environment and is passionate about providing excellent family-centered neonatal care.

You Can Expect

Schedule: 0.90 clinical FTE (24-hour shift model; 1,728 hours annually)
Team Model: 1 Neonatologist + 1 NNP per shift

NNPs conduct daily rounds; neonatologist provides leadership, assessments, and plan collaboration
Supported by highly tenured nursing staff, respiratory therapist, lactation consultants, and more

Unit: Licensed for 13 beds, 4 pods | Avg. census: 10-13
Accuity: Level III (B) – 26 weeks and up, ventilation, no surgical cases onsite
Case Types / Volumes: Care for a wide range of neonatal conditions within a busy Level III NICU; delivery room coverage for at-risk infants + average of 2,600 deliveries annually
Collaboration: Work closely with board-certified neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, OB/GYN partners, maternal-fetal medicine, and a multidisciplinary NICU team.

Required Qualifications

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification
National board certification as an NNP
Current or eligible Virginia NP license
Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU strongly preferred; new graduates considered with strong NICU RN background
Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, teamwork, and high-quality neonatal care
