Position will provide care for patients across the life span. Performs health assessments, follow-up exams for acute & chronic disease management, order & interpret diagnostic tests, medication management.

Required Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will be a PA or NP with primary care experience treating all ages. New grads with a passion for learning & growing will also be considered.

Trauma Service PA / NP | Lynchburg General Hospital We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work with our Trauma patients at our level 2 hospital, Lynchburg General. This provider would be focused on geriatric trauma patients from door to discharge. You will follow the patient through the hospital and ensure smooth transitions through discharge with potential for outpatient follow-up. It is a great opportunity to grow and to develop leadership skills Functional Responsibilities and Duties: Responsible for all aspects of trauma patient care with special emphasis on our geriatric trauma population. Obtaining pertinent medical history, performing physical examinations, and evaluating patient status Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as lab work, imaging studies, etc. Diagnosing illnesses or injury, developing treatment plans with collaborating physicians Prescribing medications and other treatment plans Communicating plans and following up with nursing staff, consulting services, and attending physician throughout the day. Perform basic bedside procedures such as chest tube placement, central line placement, arterial line placement, and laceration repairs. Responds to trauma activations in the Emergency Department and assists with ATLS resuscitation.
