Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing functions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Supervise nursing personnel and ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections.
Develop and update resident care plans collaboratively.
Conduct annual evaluations for LPNs and CNAs; manage disciplinary actions and participate in hiring and terminations.
Communicate with physicians, families, and administration regarding resident care and concerns.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained for quality care delivery.
Conduct rounds to monitor staff performance and adherence to nursing standards.
Address and report staff grievances or complaints.
Welcome and support newly admitted residents.
Participate in daily meetings and quality assurance initiatives.
Oversee medication passes, treatments, and provide direct nursing care as needed.
Complete audits and assist with MDS documentation.
Ensure accurate charting, emergency preparedness, and compliance with narcotic handling procedures.
Manage supply inventory and room readiness for admissions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Current, active RN license in the State of New York (unencumbered).
Excellent communication skills in English.
Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of nursing standards, regulations, and best practices.
Ability to supervise, motivate, and support nursing staff effectively.
