Department Highlights

- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- Provides leadership and clinical expertise for Texas Health Specialty (10-bed) long term acute care hospital, located within Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, to provide individualized and holistic care for patients with intensive nursing needs.
- Ventilator-dependent patients with rehabilitation potential
- Multiple trauma patients
- Patients with complex wound care
- Multisystem failure patients
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Diploma of Nursing.
- BSN preferred
- 1 year experience as a registered nurse in acute care setting required
- 2+ years experience as registered nurse in acute care setting preferred
- TX Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire prior to providing independent patient care required and maintained quarterly.
- ACLS – within 90 days of hire preferred
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 Days preferred.
- LTAC, Critical care or Progressive Care experience preferred

- Will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
- Support and actively participate in shared governance/councils
- Show commitment to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Directly assists leadership by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
