Essential Functions Organizes and administers individualized age specific professional care to patients within the Department of Surgery setting. Provides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the State Nurse Practice Act. Maintains the standard of nursing care as established. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit performance Improvement evaluation activities. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and to provide age specific treatment.
