Job Description:

The Surgical Scrub Tech position works under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed practitioner, this position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in an operating room to assist the surgical team in support of the nursing vision. Plans and implements care for patients with a variety of surgical problems.  In order to achieve world class engagement and to build hope, health and healing for all internal and external customers, this position must adhere to the Mary Lanning values.

EDUCATION: Associates Degree-Surgical Technologist from an accredited school required. 

EXPERIENCE: Up to 6 months on the job experience and training as a surgical technologist preferred. 

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: BLS certification within 3 months of employment required. Scrub Tech Certification (CST) required.

Responsibilities Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
