Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
About the Role
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with Cedar Park TMS, you will be at the forefront of providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to individuals and families in need. You’ll conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat a range of behavioral health conditions, and develop holistic treatment plans that promote long-term wellness and recovery.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team — including physicians, therapists, case managers, and nurses — you’ll play an essential role in integrating behavioral and physical health care to improve patient outcomes. Your work will help bridge the gap between mental health and overall well-being, empowering patients to achieve stability, resilience, and hope.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to diagnose and evaluate mental health and co-occurring conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating therapy, medication management, and supportive interventions.
- Provide ongoing medication management including prescribing, monitoring effectiveness, and managing side effects.
- Deliver compassionate psychotherapy and counseling to patients and families to promote understanding and adherence to treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care, timely communication, and holistic support.
- Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in care coordination and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- National certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority for controlled substances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings.
- Strong background in psychopharmacology, therapy, and crisis intervention.
- Experience working with individuals in IOP, PHP, or community mental health programs.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language.
