Willis Knighton Pierremont (WKP) 6 West is an 18-bed Acute Care unit. Our goal in this unit is a 1:5 nurse-patient ratio. There is a wide variety of diagnoses on this unit where the opportunity to increase your knowledge is abundant. You will assess patient conditions, administer medications, implement care plans, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your role involves critical thinking to prioritize patient needs, meticulous documentation in the electronic health record, and effective communication with healthcare professionals. Providing patient and family education, maintaining rigorous safety standards, and fostering a collaborative environment rooted in good teamwork are integral to this position. There is a 12-week orientation period where you will have one-on-one mentoring with a seasoned staff nurse.
