This role is ideal for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) seeking to provide dedicated healthcare support in an elementary school environment. The position focuses on offering one-on-one nursing care to a student, assisting with diabetic management, and ensuring compliance with individualized education programs (IEPs) and healthcare plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 nursing care to an elementary school student with specific health needs
  • Monitor and assist with diabetic care, including blood sugar checks and insulin administration under supervision
  • Review and implement the student’s IEP and healthcare plan to provide consistent and effective health support
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to maintain student wellness and safety
  • Maintain accurate health records in compliance with school policies and legal requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts license as a Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Experience working in school settings preferred, specifically with elementary-aged children
  • Knowledge of diabetic care procedures and protocols
  • Ability to follow detailed healthcare and educational plans (IEP/Healthcare Plan)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work empathetically with children and school staff
