Medical Runner (CNA) - Clinics (Float) (20hrs)

OrthoNebraska Clinic is currently searching for a Medical Runner (CNA) to assist our patients in the clinic.
This individual will assist in taking our patients from the waiting room, obtaining height, weight, blood pressure and escorting them back to the exam room.
In addition, the Medical Runner (CNA) will be responsible for accurately updating the vitals into our electronic medical record system as well as helping to keep all exam rooms clean and stocked with the assistance of our nursing staff. If you think this may be a fit for you, apply today!

Department/Position Details/Duties:

  • Transport patient to the exam room, collecting patient's height, weight & blood pressure information.
  • Accurately record patient vitals into our electronic medical record system.
  • Assist with sterile processing
  • Demonstrate utilization of knowledge and skills related to meeting age-specific needs of the patient population.
  • Function as a team member by demonstrating initiative and flexibility in the completion of the workload to provide high quality, efficient patient care.
  • Support and assist with orientation of new personnel as assigned.
  • Support organizational goals, policies and procedures and team decisions.
  • Demonstrate respect for patient rights and ensure confidentiality.
  • Communicate patient care issues appropriately and participate in their resolution.
  • Perform clerical and support tasks and patient registration activities to ensure efficient workflow in the unit.
  • Order and restock designated supplies.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Able to communicate effectively to solve problems in routine situations.
  • Must have patience, self-confidence, maturity, compassion and always remain a team
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:


Education:

  • High School Education or equivalent required.
  • CNA required at hire
  • Medication Aide required within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) at hire.

Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years of prior Nurse Assistant experience preferred.
  • Previous one-year customer service work required in a health care setting.

Physical:

  • This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.



Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
