1:1 School Nurse (LVN) Needed Near El Cajon, CA

Position Overview:

A full-time, 1:1, School Nurse (LVN) is sought for a K–12 educational setting near El Cajon, California. The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting student health, managing medical needs, and supporting a safe and inclusive learning environment. This position involves close collaboration with students, families, and school staff to ensure that health concerns do not hinder academic success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid, emergency care, and routine health services to students and staff (g-tube, trach)

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders

  • Develop and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with chronic or complex health needs

  • Conduct mandated health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and document results

  • Maintain student health records and ensure compliance with California health requirements

  • Monitor and support communicable disease prevention and reporting protocols

  • Educate students and staff on health topics, hygiene, and wellness practices

  • Serve as a liaison between school, home, and medical providers

  • Participate in student support teams and contribute to school safety and wellness policies


Qualifications:

  • Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license

  • CPR/First Aid certification required

  • Experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
