Summary:

The RN, Transport will function as a team member while upholding the mission, vision and values of Cook Children's Health Care System. This person will work in collaboration with RTs and Paramedics, in providing cares to the Neonatal and Pediatric population in all modes of transport, including ground ambulance, rotor wing and fixed wing aircraft. This person must possess critical thinking skills while practicing sound judgement throughout the transport process in varied settings. The RN, Transport will be self-motivated and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.

Shifts will vary based on the needs of the department.

This position will be based out of Meacham Airport for the first year while a 24-hour team is assembled for our Prosper facility. Once this team moves to Prosper the Transport RN will work every third weekend at Meacham for their flight experience. Prosper will be ground transport only at this time.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 3 year recent Neonatal and/or Pediatric ICU and/or Pediatric Emergency Department experience or current Neonatal/Pediatric Transport experience.
  • 5+ years preferred RN experience.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current license to practice professional Nursing in State of Texas.
  • Current CPR.
  • Current PALS or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Current NRP or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Current ACLS or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Current TNCC or Department approved equivalent or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Current STABLE or obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Current EMT or Paramedic license in the State of Texas or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Current Advanced Certification (in area of practice and/or as approved by CCMC) or must obtain within 24 months of hire.
