Responsibilities and Duties

As a caregiver with Right at Home, you will assist clients with a wide range of activities to help them maintain their independence and quality of life. Some of your key duties will include:

  • Personal Care:

    • Assist with transferring/moving clients from place to place throughout their home.

    • Help with bathing, showering, dressing, and shaving.

    • Provide medication reminders to clients as needed.

    • Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises.

  • Housekeeping & Household Management:

    • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping/mopping floors, washing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.

  • Meal Preparation:

    • Prepare meals and snacks according to client instructions and dietary needs.

  • Transportation & Errands:

    • Accompany clients on errands, shopping trips, or medical appointments as needed.

  • Companionship:

    • Engage with clients in meaningful activities such as reading, listening to music, playing puzzles, or other hobbies to encourage mental stimulation and emotional well-being.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this position, applicants should meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as required for the job.

  • License and Insurance: Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

  • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.

  • Must live in the Area!

  • Certifications: CNA license, Home Health Aide, or Home Care Aide certification. (approval from the CDSS website)
